More Than 20 Years of Maintenance Advocacy
ARSA has a distinguished, 20-plus year record of representing certificated aviation maintenance and alteration facilities. Through ARSA, the industry speaks with a single voice in the regulatory and legislative process.
Certificated maintenance facilities provide expert, quality service for general and commercial aircraft owners and operators. Through the skill and care of their employees, ARSA member companies help to ensure the safety of aircraft worldwide.
The Aircraft Maintenance Industry
ARSA's 700 members are an important part of the $9 billion per year domestic air transportation support sector of the U.S. economy. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, this economic sector is responsible for more than 115,000 jobs and a total annual employer payroll of $3 billion.
ARSA members also make important contributions to the $120 billion aerospace product and parts manufacturing industry. With a significant presence in each state, the aviation maintenance industry's economic impact is felt nationwide.
In addition to their contribution in the U.S., certificated aviation maintenance facilities throughout the world repair both domestically and internationally registered aircraft. Currently there are more than 500 FAA-certificated international maintenance facilities worldwide.
ARSA's Role in the Industry
Ten repair stations founded ARSA in 1984 as the only association devoted to serving the unique needs of civil aviation maintenance.
The Association promotes laws and regulations that establish reasonable aviation safety standards. It encourages the development of regulatory guidance and interpretations that are clear, concise, consistent and applied uniformly.
In fulfilling its mission to aid the industry in achieving public safety goals, ARSA works to:
- Raise the legislative and regulatory profile of the aviation maintenance industry;
- Provide policy guidance to lawmakers and regulators;
- Provide training programs, advisory materials and news services to meet member needs;
- Offer technical and legal expertise to analyze and respond to government actions; and
- Represent the industry to the FAA and other federal regulatory bodies.
ARSA's members and staff are proud of the contribution we make to the aviation industry and the safety of the flying public.
