ARSA Comments on EASA Single-Release Proposal
ARSA recently submitted comments to the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) regarding proposed amendments to its rules on issuing a certificate of release to service after maintenance. The amendments create a hierarchy of releases where a collection of lower-level maintenance releases ultimately leads to a single certificate of release to service for the aircraft.
ARSA contends that this does little to change the existing system of maintenance releases in Europe, but simply clarifies the responsibilities where multiple maintenance releases are issued by several organizations. The Association recommended that EASA develop the substance of its work into guidance as opposed to amending its rules.
