FAA Finds New Home For D&A Rules
A final rule was issued that will officially move the Federal Aviation Administration's anti-drug and alcohol (D&A) misuse prevention program rules to a new home. The D&A rules, once housed in 14 CFR part 121, appendices I & J, will now reside in 14 CFR part 120. The move will also remove the relevant drug and alcohol testing sections from parts 61, 63, 65, 91, 121 and 135 and house them in the new part 120. The final rule is effective July 13, 2009. In the meantime, ARSA is carefully reviewing the maneuver to ensure no substantive changes slip through the cracks.
